The Three-level Filtration System

HEPA is an acronym for High Efficiency Particulate Arresting, and this name says it all – this kind of filter is there to eliminate the majority of the airborne pollutants from your house by capturing them with millions of delicate fibers. The manufacturer claims that the UV-C air sanitizer can kill various viruses and bacteria, but we have to admit that it’s still quite debatable how efficient this is, as it still requires more scientific research. Other Features of The Unit

When it comes to controls, they are quite easy to operate. There are three fan speeds here – high, medium, and low, and there’s also the indicator light on the top of the device that tells you if the GermGuardian is on or off. The power light will also tell you if it’s the time to change the filter, and this can be done without any additional tools. However, changing the UV-C light will require the use of a screwdriver.

When it comes to energy consumption, this air purifier uses 55 watts when it’s running at the highest speed setting of the fan. And when it comes to CADR (which stands for Clean Air Delivery Rate), the unit has the CADR of 125 (for the tobacco smoke). The 450 is the biggest possible rating, which means that the more expensive units will, obviously, be much more efficient and be able to clean more air for less time. But they’re nowhere near as affordable as this model!

We should also mention the dimensions – the GermGuardian AC5000 is 28″ high, 7″ wide, and 10.2″ long, and weighs close to 10 pounds. What is Wrong with the Product?
